Three familiar names on the PGA Tour have missed their shot at returning to the big stage after falling short at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship on Sunday. Despite their experience, none of them managed a strong enough finish to reclaim a spot among the top 20 and earn their PGA Tour cards for the 2026 season.
While itโs a bitter pill to swallow, thereโs still a glimmer of hope โ their final rankings on the Korn Ferry Tour were high enough to give them another chance to qualify next year.
Among those who came up short is Dylan Wu, who lost his PGA Tour card after finishing 119th in the 2024 FedEx Cup standings. Wu, 29, had previously secured his spot in the 2022โ23 season by finishing 86th, but last yearโs inconsistency cost him. Out of 28 starts, he only managed one top-10 finish. Competing in just eight Korn Ferry Tour events in 2025, Wu ended the Tour Championship tied for 31st, well outside the range to regain his card.
Another familiar face, Russell Knox, also fell short of returning to golfโs top tier. The 40-year-old veteran, a two-time PGA Tour winner (at the 2015 WGC-HSBC Championship and 2016 Travelers Championship), had an underwhelming run in 2024. He played in ten PGA Tour events and received three sponsor exemptions but failed to make much of an impact โ missing two cuts and finishing 68th at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
Knox showed flashes of form this year, including a runner-up finish at the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic and three additional top-10 results. However, a tie for 55th at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship left him 16 places short of the cutoff needed to return to the PGA Tour.
Justin Suh, another player hoping for redemption, also missed out. The 28-year-old has teed it up in 90 PGA Tour events throughout his career, earning two top-five and five top-ten finishes. But after making only 12 cuts in 29 events during the 2024 season, Suh dropped to 162nd in the FedEx Cup standings and was forced to return to the Korn Ferry Tour.
Heading into this yearโs finale, Suh was ranked 24th in points โ just four spots shy of the magic number. Unfortunately, his tie for 31st on Sunday wasnโt enough to bridge the gap, meaning heโll have to wait a little longer for another shot at PGA Tour redemption.
