LIV Golf in talks to adding another new country to their schedule

LIV Golf is on the verge of expanding its global presence by adding South Africa to its tournament schedule. According to recent reports, the league is in advanced discussions to bring one of its events to the country, potentially making South Africa the 10th stop on its 2025 tour.

This development was publicly confirmed by South Africa’s Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, who shared the update on X (formerly Twitter). McKenzie recently held a meeting with Scot O’Neil, who took over as CEO of LIV Golf earlier this season, replacing Greg Norman.

Currently, LIV Golf events take place across nine countries: the United States, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Spain. The possible addition of South Africa suggests the league is continuing to grow its international footprint.

While an exact date hasn’t been announced yet, McKenzie sounded optimistic, hinting that the deal is nearly finalized. He expressed excitement about bringing “the world’s most exciting golf tournament” to South African soil, where 54 of the world’s top players would compete.

If finalized, the South Africa event would mark another significant milestone for LIV Golf as it continues to expand its influence in the world of professional golf.
