Lando Norris Reacts to Max Verstappen’s Fourth F1 Championship
Lando Norris, one of Formula 1’s rising stars and a close competitor to Max Verstappen, had a characteristically lighthearted yet respectful reaction to Verstappen clinching his fourth consecutive World Drivers’ Championship. Speaking after the race, Norris acknowledged Verstappen’s remarkable consistency and dominance throughout the season, calling him “an unstoppable force” in the 2024 campaign.
“It’s not surprising, really,” Norris said with a grin. “Max has been in a league of his own this year. He makes it look easy, but it’s anything but. Hats off to him and Red Bull for what they’ve achieved—it’s pretty special.”
Despite the fierce rivalry on track, Norris has often been candid about his admiration for Verstappen’s skill and work ethic. The two share a friendship off the track, often exchanging playful banter on social media and during press conferences.
When asked if Verstappen’s dominance ever gets frustrating, Norris quipped, “Of course! It’s annoying because we all want to win, but it’s also a challenge that motivates you. If you want to beat Max, you have to be perfect, and that keeps us all pushing harder.”
As McLaren continues its resurgence, Norris has emerged as one of Verstappen’s closest challengers, often finishing just behind the Red Bull ace in several races this season. While Verstappen’s success is undeniable, Norris’ consistent performances suggest that the young Briton is inching closer to breaking the Dutchman’s streak.
“Maybe next year will be different,” Norris added. “We’ll keep pushing, and who knows? Maybe I’ll be the one celebrating next time!”
Norris’ comments reflect the mix of camaraderie and competitiveness that defines the F1 paddock—a recognition of Verstappen’s brilliance and a quiet determination to one day dethrone him.
