Fans reacted to Jon Rahm hitting the ground running in his debut year on LIV Golf by winning the individual championship in 2024.
The Spaniard signed a contract with the Saudi-funded series last year and made his debut at the season-opening Mayakoba event earlier this year. It was his first season playing in the Saudi league, and a memorable one as he won the individual championship.
Rahm won his second event on the circuit at the recently concluded LIV Golf Chicago event, and with that, he also won the individual championship for the season.
LIV Golf shared a video of Jon Rahm celebrating his win on its X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:
“RAHMBO IS THE 2024 LIV GOLF LEAGUE INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION 🏆 #LIVGolf @LegionXIIIgc.”
Fans reacted to his victory in the comments section of the post. However, they had mixed reactions, as some applauded him while others took a jibe at him.
“This feels bigger than the green jacket he’s got collecting dust in his closet,” a fan wrote.
“Poor guy knows he’s been irrelevant since he went to LIV,” another fan wrote.
Meanwhile, some fans lavished praise on the former Masters winner.
