The upcoming Arnold Palmer Invitational has announced the recipients of the four sponsor exemptions for the event, with Rafael Campos, Justin Rose, Mackenzie Hughes, and Min Woo Lee earning their spots.
These players were chosen by a committee that included Arnold Palmer’s grandson, Sam Saunders, who emphasized the importance of supporting and nurturing the game of golf.
Unfortunately, notable names like Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler did not receive sponsor exemptions this year. Despite their past successes, both players had a challenging season and fell outside the top 60 in the FedEx Cup standings. This meant they had to rely on sponsor exemptions to secure a spot in the tournament, but ultimately, they were not selected.
Saunders explained that the selection process was carefully considered, with a focus on promoting the growth of golf and ensuring a fair and balanced approach. Each player chosen was thoughtfully evaluated, reflecting the committee’s dedication to supporting the sport as a whole.
