Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu have once again set tongues wagging after appearing together in a joint social media post, fueling speculation that the two tennis stars are more than just friends.
Alcaraz, 22, returned to the top of the men’s rankings after clinching the US Open title last weekend, defeating defending champion Jannik Sinner in four sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4). While the Spaniard’s victory drew headlines on the court, his off-court connection with Raducanu has also been a hot topic.
Rumors of a blossoming romance between the pair have circulated for months. Both players have publicly dismissed the speculation, insisting they are simply close friends. Raducanu previously remarked:
“I guess it comes with the territory, people being so curious. I think they’re more curious about this news than any tennis results. I just keep to myself and my private life to one side.”
Despite their denials, fans continue to read into their interactions, especially after their mixed doubles run at the US Open earlier this summer. The duo were knocked out in the first round by Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper, but their chemistry on and off the court caught attention.
Adding fuel to the fire, the pair recently featured in a Sky Sports segment debating first-date etiquette. Raducanu and Alcaraz shared differing views on whether couples should kiss on a first date, a lighthearted moment that only intensified fan theories about their bond.
At the same time, Alcaraz’s personal life has been under the spotlight for other reasons. Reports linked him with Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader, with Nader’s sister seemingly confirming their connection during New York Fashion Week.
Nevertheless, the new joint Instagram post with Raducanu—alongside American players Amanda Anisimova and Frances Tiafoe—has once again shifted the narrative. The post comes ahead of their participation in Racquet at The Rock, an exhibition event at the Prudential Center in December. Alcaraz is set to face Tiafoe, while Raducanu will take on Anisimova.
For now, both players remain focused on their tennis, but their friendship—and its perceived romantic undertones—continues to capture the curiosity of fans worldwide.
