Fans horrified as Tiger Woods’ leg pictured without sleeve on for first time since car crash

A photo of Tiger Woods’ battered right leg has been papped without a sleeve on while he watches son Charlie Woods compete in the US Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills.

Tiger Woods’ battered right leg has been pictured for the first time without a sleeve on in public since his horror car crash in 2021, and it’s left golf fans horrified.

Woods, 48, missed his third consecutive cut in the majors this season with another lacklustre display at The 152nd Open last week.

The 15-time major champion slumped to rounds of 79 and 77 en route to missing the cut by eight shots on 14-over par at Royal Troon.

Woods has only been able to play in five tournaments this season as a result of his ongoing battle with injury.

Last year, Woods had to undergo ankle surgery in a bid to help him get back to competitive action on the PGA Tour.

Although Woods says he can still hit ‘all the shots’ required to win again on the PGA Tour, he has accepted walking 72 holes is now something of an arduous task in the aftermath of his horror car crash in February 2021.

Then again, Woods has only been able to walk 72 holes once in tournament mode this season.

That came when he set a new consecutive cuts made record (24) at The Masters in April.

But he would go on to finish dead last of those that made the weekend at Augusta National.

In Woods’ other four starts this season, he withdrew during the second round of the Genesis Invitational and he missed the cut at the US PGA, US Open and The Open.

Woods bowed out of The 152nd Open last week and then told us at Royal Troon that he will unlikely be playing competitively again until the annual PNC Championship with his son Charlie Woods just before Christmas.

He also confirmed he would be back at Royal Portrush to give The Open another go in 2025.

Woods hit back at Colin Montgomerie’s claims for him to retire last week.

But back to the top of the story, and a social media account has shared a photo of Woods’ battered and bruised right leg without its sleeve on for the first time since his car crash.

In a past interview with Golf Digest about the extent of injury to his right leg after his near-fatal car crash in 2021, Woods admitted “it was damn-near there if I was going to walk out of that hospital with one leg.”

The new photo was papped as Woods was watching his son Charlie Woods, 15, compete in the first round of the US Junior Amateur.

Charlie, who is competing in his first-ever USGA event this week, sadly got off to a brutal start.

The latest photo of Woods’ beaten up leg, if you zoom in, is pretty graphic to say the least.

But it does go far to explain why Woods is still having so much difficulty on a golf course.

In 18 months time, Woods will be able to compete on the over 50s PGA Tour Champions in a golf cart, something he will consider should he wish to continue playing the sport.

Flushing It tweeted in response to the photo: “Tiger Woods is walking the course at the US Junior without his leg sleeve. The scar on his leg is massive and probably helps explain the difficulty he’s had.”

“Oh wow I did not realize it looked like that!” commented one Tiger fan.

Other fans were left stunned with tweets such as ‘that is incredible’, ‘OMG’, ‘that looks brutal’, ‘it’s amazing he can still walk’, and ‘that is one insane scar’.
