6 Golfers Who Have Qualified for the European Ryder Cup Team, Featuring Rory McIlroy

The 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black is beginning to take shape for Team Europe. With the automatic qualification period concluding at the Betfred British Masters, six players have already secured their places.

Captain Luke Donald will round out the roster with six captain’s picks on September 1, but the confirmed half of the team already showcases a blend of experience, consistency, and fresh talent.

Confirmed European Ryder Cup Players

1. Rory McIlroy
World No. 2 and second in the FedExCup standings, Rory McIlroy remains the driving force of European golf. A veteran of seven Ryder Cups (2010–2023), he holds a career record of 16-13-4.
McIlroy’s 2025 season has been outstanding, highlighted by victories at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, The Players Championship, and The Masters, where he completed the career Grand Slam. He also posted one runner-up finish, eight top-10s, and missed only one cut in 15 starts.

2. Tommy Fleetwood
Ranked 5th in the FedExCup and 10th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Fleetwood has become a reliable Ryder Cup contributor. In three previous appearances (2018, 2021, 2023), he has built a 7-3-2 record.
This season, Fleetwood played 18 events. Although a win eluded him, he recorded a runner-up finish and seven top-10s, missing just one cut.

3. Robert MacIntyre
Currently ninth in the FedExCup and eighth in the world rankings, MacIntyre made his Ryder Cup debut in 2023 with a 2-0-1 record.
In 2025, he has played 22 PGA Tour events, collecting two runner-up finishes, six top-10s, and 10 top-25s, while missing only two cuts.

4. Justin Rose
A six-time Ryder Cup veteran, Justin Rose brings experience and leadership. He has a career record of 14-9-3 in the competition. Ranked 11th in the world and fourth in the FedExCup, he has been consistent in 2025.
Rose captured the FedEx St. Jude Championship this season, added a runner-up finish, and secured five other top-10s across 17 starts.

5. Rasmus Højgaard
One of Europe’s rising stars, Rasmus Højgaard will make his Ryder Cup debut. He sits 68th in the world rankings and 85th in the FedExCup standings.
In 18 PGA Tour appearances this season, he notched a runner-up finish, one top-10, and five top-25s, while missing five cuts.

6. Tyrrell Hatton
Now competing in LIV Golf, Tyrrell Hatton remains an important part of Team Europe. Ranked 24th in the world, he has already featured in three Ryder Cups, compiling a 5-4-2 record.
While he did not secure a win in 2025, Hatton showed consistency in the majors, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Open and making the cut in all four majors.
