Red Bull Racing has officially dismissed allegations of misconduct against Team Principal Christian Horner, confirming that he will continue in his role leading the reigning Formula 1 champions
In a statement released on February 28, 2024, Red Bull GmbH announced the conclusion of an independent investigation into claims made by a female employee. The company stated:
“The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr. Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.”
The investigation, conducted by an external specialist barrister, remained confidential, with Red Bull emphasizing respect for the privacy of all parties involved. Following the dismissal of the grievance, the complainant exercised the right to appeal; however, the appeal was not upheld, concluding the internal process.
Christian Horner, who has led Red Bull Racing since its inception in 2005, has been instrumental in the team’s success, securing multiple Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships. Addressing the situation, Horner stated:
“I am confident in the process, which I have fully complied with and will continue to do so, and absolutely deny any of the allegations that have been made against me. For me, it is business as normal. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be here.”
The allegations and subsequent investigation had cast a shadow over the team’s preparations for the 2024 Formula 1 season. Despite the controversy, Red Bull Racing maintained its focus, with Horner continuing his duties throughout the process. The team now looks ahead to the upcoming season, aiming to build on its recent successes under Horner’s leadership.
While the internal investigation has concluded, reports indicate that the matter may proceed to a labor tribunal in January 2026, suggesting that legal proceedings could continue.
As the Formula 1 community turns its attention back to the track, Red Bull Racing and Christian Horner aim to put the controversy behind them and focus on the challenges of the new season.
