With six open roster spots and growing speculation, LIV Golf is reportedly in talks with two recent PGA Tour winners about joining its Saudi-backed circuit ahead of the new season. While the names of the players remain undisclosed, excitement and curiosity among fans are running high. Here’s a look at five PGA Tour champions who could be among the next wave of potential LIV Golf recruits.
1. Steven Fisk
Steven Fisk is one of the hottest names being linked to LIV Golf after capturing his first PGA Tour title at the Sanderson Farms Championship earlier this month. The 26-year-old outlasted Garrick Higgo to claim victory, just a year after earning his full Tour card.
Fisk’s win earned him roughly $1 million and secured his PGA Tour card through 2027, but a lucrative LIV offer could be difficult to resist. A move would see him sacrifice appearances at flagship events such as The Players Championship, though his place in next year’s PGA Championship would remain intact.
2. J.J. Spaun
Fresh off a breakthrough season, J.J. Spaun might also be on LIV’s radar. The 33-year-old stunned the golfing world by winning the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont, his first major championship title.
Spaun also had near-misses at both The Players Championship, where he finished runner-up to Rory McIlroy, and the FedEx St. Jude Championship, losing in a playoff to Justin Rose. Having made his Ryder Cup debut for Team USA this year, a move to LIV would see him reunite with compatriot Bryson DeChambeau, making him a prime candidate to bolster LIV’s American roster.
3. Cameron Young
Cameron Young’s name continues to surface whenever LIV expansion is mentioned. The 28-year-old finally claimed his maiden PGA Tour victory at the 2025 Wyndham Championship, earning over $1.3 million and cementing his place as one of the game’s rising stars.
Young also posted a top-five finish at the U.S. Open and impressed on his Ryder Cup debut. Although he previously dismissed rumors linking him to LIV, the league’s ongoing growth and financial pull could make him reconsider. Adding Young would be a major statement for LIV as it looks to attract elite American talent.
4. Sepp Straka
European star Sepp Straka enjoyed a phenomenal 2025 season, claiming two PGA Tour titles — including the Truist Championship in May, which earned him a hefty $3.6 million payday.
The Austrian, who represented Team Europe at the Ryder Cup, has already built strong relationships with several LIV players. With Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton — both his Ryder Cup teammates — now part of LIV’s Legion XIII GC, Rahm could attempt to lure Straka over to complete his team’s lineup.
5. Chris Gotterup
One of the brightest young prospects in American golf, Chris Gotterup has seen his stock soar since turning pro in 2022. His breakout 2024 season included victories at the Myrtle Beach Classic and the Genesis Scottish Open, where he edged out Rory McIlroy in dramatic fashion.
Gotterup also impressed at The Open Championship, nearly doubling his career earnings in just a few weeks. With his fearless style and rising profile, he fits LIV’s mold for attracting youthful, exciting talent — and could be tempted by the chance to compete on a global stage.
The Bigger Picture
As LIV Golf prepares for its next season, adding proven PGA Tour winners would strengthen its credibility and competitiveness. With rumors swirling around Fisk and Spaun already, and others like Young, Straka, and Gotterup potentially in the mix, the coming months could see another wave of high-profile defections shaping golf’s new world order.
