Fox News Cuts Coverage Repeatedly as Trump Scolds Cameraman During White House Event

Fox News was forced to cut its live coverage several times on Monday morning after President Donald Trump lashed out at a cameraman during a press session with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House.

The network interrupted its regular programming during The Faulkner Focus to air Trump’s meeting with Albanese, but a technical glitch disrupted the broadcast. As cameras were being adjusted, Trump appeared visibly annoyed by the delay and directed his frustration toward one of the cameramen.

“Did you want to move your camera over here or are we going to have—who are you shooting for?” Trump asked sharply, as the press pool scrambled to fix the equipment. Moments later, he warned, “Oh, you got to watch that. You’re not allowed to break that. That mirror is 400 years old. A camera just hit the mirror. I just moved it up here from the vaults, and the first thing that happens, a camera hits it.”

Trump then turned to Albanese with a shake of the head, saying, “Hard to believe, isn’t it? But these are the problems in life.”

Host Harris Faulkner, who was live on air at the time, struggled to keep up with the unpredictable flow of the broadcast. “I think they’re still getting into place here, so we’re going to watch as that happens and go back,” she said before being cut off again when Trump resumed speaking.

At the start of the event, Faulkner had been in conversation with Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell about the New York City mayoral race when the network suddenly switched to the White House feed. “This is breaking right now,” she announced. “The president greeting the Australian Prime Minister. Gianno, I’ll come back to you. Let’s watch this live.”

Reporters could be heard asking questions as Trump and Albanese walked toward the cameras. When asked for his message to Australians, Trump shouted, “We love them!” and when pressed on his goals for the meeting, he replied, “A lot, a lot. Great things. Thank you very much!” Albanese added, “We’re going to get a lot done,” before following Trump inside.

Faulkner later summarized the exchange, noting Trump’s unpredictable style. “The president loves Australia,” she told viewers. “You never know what you’re going to get with this particular president, except one hundred percent access to him and his guests.”

The segment ended as Fox News cut back to Faulkner’s earlier discussion, leaving viewers buzzing about the president’s fiery exchange and the multiple on-air interruptions.
