Martin Kaymer has confirmed that discussions are taking place with multiple DP World Tour players over potential moves to LIV Golf ahead of the 2026 season.
The two-time major winner, who has captained Cleeks Golf Club since joining LIV in 2022, admitted that interest in the Saudi-backed circuit has grown in recent weeks. His comments come shortly after Europe’s 15–13 Ryder Cup victory over the United States at Bethpage Black.
“We are already on the case talking to several players,” Kaymer told Bunkered. “We’ve had a lot of interest, including from players who were competing in Ireland last month. Managers have been calling – there is a lot happening.”
Cleeks endured a difficult season, finishing bottom of the LIV standings, while team member Frederik Kjettrup was relegated. Kaymer acknowledged that the team must recruit wisely and stressed that financial incentives will no longer be the main draw.
“People think it’s still about millions being handed out,” Kaymer said. “We’re not that kind of team anymore. The focus has to be on performance – players who want to work hard and inspire each other. LIV has moved away from those big paychecks.”
