In a major update on the murder of political commentator Charlie Kirk, a shocking ‘confession’ from the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, has been made public.

According to the Washington Post, two people with knowledge of a Discord group chat shared messages reportedly sent by Robinson just two hours before his arrest. The alleged confession reads, “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.” He continued, “Im surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. Thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing, thank you for everything.”

The FBI and local authorities have received screenshots of the messages from Discord. Robinson was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt that ended when his own father turned him in. While initially there was speculation he was a left-wing activist, it is now believed Robinson is a right-wing supporter.

Robinson was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice. He is expected to face capital murder charges, though reports indicate he is not cooperating with authorities.
