Justin Thomas gave fans a laugh — and a little scare — after sharing a video of a nasty bruise smack in the middle of his forehead just weeks before the Ryder Cup.
The 32-year-old PGA Tour star, who was one of Keegan Bradley’s six captain’s picks for Team USA, revealed the injury came from an unexpected source: playtime with his young daughter, Molly Grace.
Thomas took to Instagram with a video showing the sizeable welt while his wife Jillian could be heard laughing in the background. “Happy Thursday everybody. Did y’all have a good Wednesday? I sure did…” he joked in the caption, showing that he was taking the mishap in stride.
Thomas and Jillian welcomed Molly Grace on November 18, 2024, and this incident is just the latest in what Thomas calls the “adventures of dad life.”
Despite the fresh bruise, Thomas is expected to be ready for the Ryder Cup later this month. The former World No. 1 boasts an impressive 7-4-2 overall record in the biennial event, including a perfect 3-0 singles record, making him the most experienced player on the American side.
He’ll join teammates Scottie Scheffler, JJ Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau, Harris English, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Ben Griffin, and Cameron Young when Team USA heads to Bethpage Black in New York from September 26–28, determined to reclaim the Cup after a heavy defeat in Rome two years ago.
Before the showdown with Europe, Thomas and nine of his Ryder Cup teammates will tee it up at next week’s Procore Championship — part of Bradley’s plan to keep his players sharp. The U.S. captain has emphasized that staying in competitive mode is key after blaming a lack of reps for their loss at Marco Simone in 2023.
Bruise or not, Justin Thomas will be ready when the first tee shot flies later this month — and fans are loving his very relatable dad moment along the way.
