Watch: Lando Norris, Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri Left Stunned by Bizarre Question in Press Conference

F1 qualifying at the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix saw the now-familiar names of Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, and Max Verstappen locking out the top three positions. Piastri snatched pole with Norris just 0.012s behind, while Verstappen thrilled the home crowd with a purple middle sector before ultimately settling for P3, more than two-tenths off the McLarens.

While the usual performance-related questions dominated the post-qualifying press conference, the atmosphere shifted when a journalist threw the trio a curveball. The reporter asked them about the 1985 Dutch Grand Prix—the final edition of the race before its 35-year absence from the F1 calendar.

“What do you remember of the 1985 race, just before Zandvoort was canceled for more than three decades? Who won? Who was second? Who started P10? No phones, no Google,” the journalist quizzed.

The drivers were caught completely off-guard. Oscar Piastri grabbed the mic but stayed silent for nearly ten seconds, clearly unsure of how to respond. Breaking the awkward pause, Verstappen leaned over and cheekily muttered to Piastri:

“Just say, ‘I don’t care.’”

The offhand remark had both McLaren drivers laughing. Eventually, Piastri decided to hazard a guess:

“I’m gonna take a wild guess… Was it Niki Lauda that won the race?”

The exchange left the press room in chuckles and showed a lighter side to the otherwise tense qualifying session.
