Scottie Scheffler remained atop the FedEx Cup standings despite narrowly missing the playoff at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which Justin Rose won over J.J. Spaun on the third extra hole. Rose jumped from 25th to 4th in the standings with his victory at TPC Southwind.
The top 50 players earned spots in this week’s BMW Championship at Caves Valley in Maryland, along with automatic exemptions into next season’s eight signature events. The top 30 after the BMW Championship will advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta, where the winner will claim $10 million.
Five players moved into the top 50: Rickie Fowler, Bud Cauley, Kurt Kitayama, Jhonattan Vegas, J.T. Poston.
Five players dropped out: Jordan Spieth, Aldrich Potgieter, Jake Knapp, Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee.
