Scottie Scheffler captured The Open Championship on Sunday with another dominant display of golf.
The world number one seized control of the tournament at Royal Portrush after 36 holes and never relinquished his lead, claiming his fourth major title with ease.
Scheffler’s form continues to separate him from the rest of the field, with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau unable to match his consistency and composure.
While praise poured in from across the golfing world, one message stood out — and it came from LIV Golf.
Despite their ongoing rivalry with the PGA Tour, LIV Golf publicly congratulated Scheffler on his victory. In a rare show of appreciation, their official social media account wrote:
“What a week at The Open. Our players battled hard, mounted comebacks, and showed what true grit looks like. Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on an impressive performance and a well‑deserved win as the 2025 Open Champion.”
Meanwhile, Justin Thomas added his own tribute, writing on Instagram:
“What an amazing experience as always here at The Open, I’m already itching for some more links golf. Congrats on yet another win for Scottie Scheffler, very very impressive stuff!”
Scheffler’s latest win only strengthens his status as the game’s most dominant player right now.
