Anthony Kim didn’t mince words following a rough week at LIV Golf Andalucia, delivering a blunt and honest assessment of his performance that left little to interpretation.
“Sometimes s**t happens,” Kim said when asked about his struggles during the event. “It wasn’t my best, not even close, but I’m not going to beat myself up over it.”
The former PGA Tour star, who made a highly anticipated return to competitive golf this year, has been under a spotlight with every appearance. While fans were eager to see flashes of the old AK, his form in Spain never got going. Mistimed swings, missed opportunities, and visible frustration made for a tough outing.
Still, Kim remained composed in his post-round comments, accepting the result and focusing on the bigger picture.
“I’m still working through a lot — physically and mentally,” he said. “There are going to be weeks like this. The important thing is how I bounce back.”
Kim’s comeback has been one of the year’s most talked-about stories in golf, and while the Andalucia performance won’t make the highlight reel, his openness and perspective offered a glimpse of his mindset.
“I’ve come too far to let one bad tournament define the journey,” he added. “On to the next one.”
