The final qualifying results for the 2025 Open Championship are in—and several big names have officially punched their tickets to Royal Portrush. After an intense battle, it’s Xander Schauffele who topped the leaderboard with a score of 275, sealing his place in the prestigious major.
Joining him on the journey to Northern Ireland are Justin Rose and Billy Horschel, both finishing at 277, and South African Thriston Lawrence, who came in at 278. These players stood out with solid performances under immense pressure, earning their right to compete on one of the biggest stages in golf.
Just missing out were Russell Henley at 279 and 2019 Open Champion Shane Lowry, who finished at 280. While their efforts were commendable, they fell just short in what turned out to be a fiercely competitive qualifying round.
The scoreboard at Royal Troon displayed the message loud and clear:
“Well played Xander. See you at Royal Portrush 2025.”
With the field beginning to take shape, fans are already buzzing about what promises to be a thrilling tournament next year. The return to Royal Portrush—site of Shane Lowry’s unforgettable 2019 triumph—adds extra excitement, especially with players like Schauffele, Rose, and Horschel looking to etch their names into Open Championship history.
As the countdown to Portrush continues, all eyes will be on these qualifiers to see if they can carry this momentum onto golf’s grandest links stage.
