Justin Rose, the 2013 U.S. Open champion, has withdrawn from the 2025 RBC Canadian Open citing illness. The tournament, held at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, had included Rose among its notable participants, alongside Rory McIlroy and defending champion Robert MacIntyre.
Rose’s withdrawal comes shortly after his unexpected exit from the Truist Championship in May, where he also cited illness as the reason for his departure. Despite these setbacks, Rose has demonstrated strong form in 2025, securing three top-10 finishes in eight PGA Tour events, including a second-place finish at The Masters.
The RBC Canadian Open, one of the oldest tournaments on the PGA Tour, continues with a field that includes top players such as Rory McIlroy, who is aiming for his third title at this event. The tournament serves as a key preparation for many golfers ahead of the upcoming U.S. Open.
As the golfing community wishes Justin Rose a speedy recovery, fans and analysts alike hope to see him return to the course in full health for future competitions.
