Carlos Sainz gave a very honest and realistic take on why Lewis Hamilton is struggling at Ferrari.

He said he’s not surprised at all because switching to a new team is never easy—even for a seven-time world champion like Hamilton.

Sainz explained that drivers like Charles Leclerc, who have been with the team longer, already know the car and the team inside out. They’re getting everything possible out of the car, so it’s unrealistic to expect someone new to come in and immediately outperform them.

He pointed out that even top drivers need time to adjust. Hamilton had a great race in China, but overall, he’s still getting used to the new environment and car. Sainz emphasized that this adjustment period is normal and can take longer for some drivers than others.

In short, Sainz’s message was clear: it’s going to take time for Hamilton to get fully comfortable at Ferrari, and that’s completely normal—even for a seven-time world champion.
