Max Verstappen addresses Red Bull’s exit rumors head-on and makes a 2026 call.

Although he acknowledged that he and Red Bull are “not where we want to be,” Verstappen downplayed rumors that he would be leaving the team.

After their performance decline, there has been much conjecture that the Dutchman might decide to switch to Mercedes or Aston Martin. Verstappen is only concerned with competing for titles; Red Bull is no longer the fastest car on the grid. Naturally, if there is a better chance of expanding his trophy cabinet somewhere else, that will be taken into account.

Helmut Marko, the senior advisor to the team, acknowledged that he worries Verstappen will leave, citing a performance-related clause in his contract that would permit him to do so. The driver, however, downplayed such rumors. There must be something for people to write about.

All I have to say is that,” Verstappen remarked. Additionally, follow Helmut’s instructions. You see, it’s quite normal for any driver to want to be in the fastest car. However, that doesn’t mean you should flee if things don’t work out.

That’s the only thing you can do, but we’re still working on it and aren’t where we want to be yet. You can shout about it, but it won’t make any difference.

All I’m trying to do is my best. We might have everything under control by 2026, but you can’t win everything all the time.
