PING makes new LIV Golf announcement

PING has officially joined the ranks of major golf equipment brands sponsoring a team in the LIV Golf League for 2025. Today, the company announced its partnership with Joaquin Niemann’s Torque GC team.

Niemann, a 26-year-old professional golfer from Chile, has been a dedicated PING staff player since shortly after he turned pro in 2018. The sponsorship kicks off this week at the LIV Golf event in Mexico City, taking place from April 25 to April 27.

This agreement follows closely on the heels of Callaway’s recent announcement of a significant partnership with Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team.

Torque GC boasts an all-Latin American roster, featuring Niemann alongside fellow Chilean Mito Pereira, Colombian Sebastian Munoz, and Carlos Ortiz from Mexico. PING’s CEO and president, John K. Solheim, emphasized the team’s connection to the brand, stating, “All four members of the Torque GC team have used PING equipment before turning professional, and they continue to rely on it today.”

We have cultivated strong relationships with each of these remarkable athletes throughout their careers. They are not only great friends but also fierce competitors. We eagerly anticipate following their successes, both as a team and as individuals, as they work to elevate PING’s visibility among golfers worldwide.

Joaquín Niemann, the team captain and currently the top-ranked player in the league, has achieved an impressive four individual victories since joining the circuit in 2022. Notably, he won two of the first four events this season and also triumphed at the Saudi International on the Asian Tour late last year, making history as the first player to win using the new G440 driver.

“My first set of PING clubs was one of their junior sets, and I have relied on PING clubs ever since,” Niemann shared. “They are an engineering company that prioritizes product performance above all else. The equipment and support provided by their tour representatives instill confidence in our team, enabling us to compete for the podium each week.

“Mito, Carlos, Sebastián, and I are honored and grateful that PING has chosen to support Torque GC in such a significant manner.”

In addition to Niemann, Sebastián Muñoz, Carlos Ortiz, and Mito Pereira have also established themselves as champions over the years, collectively amassing an impressive 25 global wins. Since its formation in 2023, Torque GC has celebrated four team victories.

All four players will proudly use PING clubs, wear PING-branded headwear, and carry the company’s staff bag.
