Tyrrell Hatton reacts on getting summoned by tournament officials

Tyrrell Hatton is in Dubai to play his first tournament of the season. Hatton is currently at the Emirates Golf Club to play in DP World Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic. After three rounds at the tournament, however, Hatton found himself surrounded by some controversy.

As per Ewan Murray of The Observer, the English golfer was questioned by officials after he broke a tee marker on the par-3 hole 7 with his golf club. The reason behind Murray breaking the tee was frustration. When questioned by officials, Hatton said:

“Just a bit of frustration. Probably shouldn’t have done it. Does it make me a bad person? No. It’s just a spur of the moment thing and it happened. I can’t go back and change it, so move on…. I was told about it in scoring.

I don’t have an issue with what was being said. I’m aware that it’s not the right thing to do but in the heat of the moment when you’re frustrated, you just do things that you probably wish you didn’t do…. I’m not going to let it bother me for the rest of the day. If that’s the worst thing I do as a human, then, I mean, it’s not that bad.”

From a golf point of view, the third round was eventful for Tyrrell Hatton if one ignores the above-mentioned incident. In this round on Saturday, Hatton scored an eagle and five birdies to gain a considerable advantage on the leaderboard.
Tyrrell Hatton faced questions from tournament officials after venting his frustration on the 7th hole in Dubai by smashing a plastic tee marker with his club.
